How to reduce tantrums

Is your kid aggressive? Is he misbehaving often? Does he scream or sulk if things do not happen to his liking?

How to deal with it? Here is how.

Most children throw tantrums for the following reasons:
  1.  To get something they want (which is not being given or is inappropriate or simply unaffordable)
  2. To get away from something they DON'T want!

So how to deal with scenario 1:
  • Try replacement with something appropriate or affordable whatever is the case. Many times children will happily accept something else.
  • If replacement does not work, try reasoning, offer extra playtime, extra tv minutes, a visit to the mall/ zoo instead.
  • If tantrum continues, nothing works just ignore
